jACOB is a Java framework for developing and managing web-based, database-driven, applications. jACOB addresses the needs of developers to simplify database access and persistence, configuration and deployment tasks and focus their attention on implementing business domain logic in Java.

open jACOB is an open-source web application environment developed by the open-jACOB community. It includes a free version of the HSQL database engine. open-jACOB is freely available for download at www.openjacob.org and licensed under GPL. enterprise jACOB is a commercial software developed and distributed by Tarragon. It complements open-jACOB with a set of additional database connectors for MySQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle and Informix and high-end clustering and load balancing technologies.
